Message :itself more than a resistance to heat. That is the major reason for me setting boundaries on total timing advance in the timing maps; I have a pretty good idea on what the VG can do without detonating and there was considerable buffering in the programming to account for the fact that you can't hear detonation with external wastegates.
:A stock piston at 700+RWHP will not stand a single event of detonation without suffering ring land failiure. The occurence of this event can be determined by performing a compression test after the dyno session. We did do this and every cylinder was at the same value it was before the session.
:Will the stock pistons hold up to 585RWHP?
:Certainly, but only as long as it isn't experiencing detonation. The car was tuned for this output on race fuel only (no NOS) and it performed beautifully.
" Will the stock pistons, swain coated, stand up to 744RWHP?
:Again, yes, but only on the condition that it does not experience detonation. At this power level, detonation will destroy stock pistons, however, being swain coated adds a significant buffer into the system that will keep cylnder temperatures lower during longer, loaded pulls like it will experience down the 1320'."

Is the map 100% the same now as it was on the dyno?? Meaning can Sean run 744 RWHP "safely" down the 1320 on a 95+ Degree F day????
